“I want to make a microwave oven that blends more comfortably into the space when placed together with carefully chosen cooking tools.” This thought was the starting point for design in this project. Especially because the kitchen space has many things placed in it, I thought design with a relaxed elegance would be easy on both the space and the people that spend time in the kitchen. For this reason, I gathered all the important functions into a pair of dials and printed the instructions inside using large characters. Being able to see the menu when the doors opened is a new experiment never used before. In addition, since movement becomes polite naturally when using the pair of dials, I believe that the gestures of the person using it will also be beautiful. A comfortable feeling when using the handle was important when designing the entire unit, of course, but I also obsessed over the hues and refining the feel of the materials. This microwave oven has multiple surface finishes with different textures. Please touch it and feel the difference.
In my daily work, coffee breaks are something that are important to me.
After preparing the beans and pouring the hot water, I enjoy the fragrance as I drink it with other team members. The time spent savoring coffee with the five senses is refreshing, and sometimes leads to clues for the generation of new ideas. I consider this time important in the design of kitchen equipment.
