キッズケータイSH-03M

「小学校低学年から高学年になるまでご愛用いただける、あんしんあんぜんなものにしたい」という思いをカタチにしました。このデザイン開発で特徴的だったのは、キッズならではの遊び心が私の中で徐々に培われたことです。

I gave form to this idea: “I want to make something that provides safety and peace of mind and that children will use throughout elementary school from their early years.” One special thing about this design and development process was that I gradually developed my own childlike playfulness. During the development of the Kid’s Keitai, which is a mobile phone for children, I read magazines and watched television programs for elementary school students.

キッズケータイの開発中、私は小学生向けの雑誌や番組をみたり、今子供達に流行っているゲームやおもちゃで親戚の子供と遊んだりしました。大人が思う「子供ってこれが好きでしょ？」というかたちではなく、今の子供たちが何に興味を持って、何に惹かれるかを子供の目線になって理解したかったからです。

With my young relatives, I also played with games and toys that are popular among children. This is because rather than making a form based on one-way adult ideas about what “Children will probably like,” I wanted to design after I understood from children’s points of view what interests and attracts them.

そうして、「お母さんがもっているスマホがいい」という子供たちの憧れと、「壊れにくく、犯罪・災害といった万が一の事態でも役に立ってほしい」という親の気持ちを叶えるキッズケータイのデザインを目指しました。他にも、パッケージデザインでは子供がわくわくするしかけを施しています。随所に隠れた要素やリレーションを見つけて楽しんでいただけたら嬉しいです。

Then, I sought to design this Kid’s Keitai to meet both the yearning of children for “the smartphone that my mom has” and the feelings of parents that “want it to be difficult to break and useful in emergencies, including crimes and disasters.” I also added elements to excite children in the package design. I will be happy if they find and enjoy the elements and relationships hidden everywhere in it.

学生時代から友人と、街中やスタジオを借りて人物撮影をするのが趣味です。テーマに合う服や小道具をそろえて、私が被写体になる時はいつもの自分とは違う自分になれる瞬間が（照れくさいですが）とても刺激的ですし、表現の幅を広げる体験になっているのかなと思います。

Since my student days, my hobby has been to take photographs with my friends in the city and in rented studios. When wearing clothes and using props to match the photograph theme, I feel like I become a different person from my usual self. This is an exciting moment, and I think that these experiences expand my range of expression.
