The AQUOS design development discusses immersive design
While TV frames often had elaborate designs long ago, the norm today is a flat, simple design with no raised surfaces. Therefore, to enhance the immersive experience of the visuals, we contemplated how to reduce the number of exterior elements around what you see on the TV.
The frame’s front surface is 1 mm wide. In developing the design for the AQUOS XLED, we brought it down to that size by reducing noise elements around the screen. The sides of the metal frame blend in with the living space by reflecting the surrounding environment. This creates the appearance that the image is floating by itself in the space.
In addition to high resolution with dramatically improved brightness and contrast thanks to Sharp’s proprietary technologies, the AQUOS XLED is equipped with a sound system that creates a three-dimensional soundstage. Enjoy an immersive visual experience that feels so incredibly real.
