I was responsible for the design of Cocoro vision, which is included in AQUOS products. Cocoro vision is a service that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to learn people’s preferences and notify them about programs and other information of interest. The TV automatically lights when a person approaches and audibly informs them about timely program recommendations and lifestyle information. I designed it with the goal of creating “relationships that seamlessly connect people and televisions” by having the TV infer their thoughts and speak to them, for example. This gives televisions expressiveness that enables them to speak to people pleasantly and fulfill their wishes, considering their needs.
Outside of work, I belong to a group called Denka Bijutsu (electrified art) and create artworks that utilize electronic techniques. This provides good stimulation as an activity with a different perspective from work. For example, I created a concept unit with numerous outlets in the ceiling and walls in a housing complex renovation project.
