This AQUOS product is for the Chinese market. From my experience being posted in Shanghai, I learned that the needs of Chinese users and store displays differ from Japan. For example, over half the customers in China mount TVs on walls. For this reason, expressing the harmony with interiors and the thinness of the model is an important point. Therefore, I sought a light form like a picture on an easel for this design. As a result of removing the speakers from the display and focusing completely on thinness, I realized sound with a sense of realism using external speakers called “sound bridges” with compact woofers. Moreover, considering that people will view the backs, I designed the exterior without screws to be clean and free of extraneous details. This TV, which I designed with dedication to the finest details without being restricted by conventions, can be called a “work of art.”
In the design and development of this television, through cooperation with numerous people from both inside and outside the company, I was able to pursue beauty down to the smallest parts. By taking things on sincerely and with enthusiasm, the path naturally unfolds ahead. Even with the aquarium that I keep as a hobby, I unconsciously get lost in details and forget the passage of time.
