Multifunction printers that are the most familiar to users

I designed the user interface with my mind focused on ease-of-use. Until now multifunction printers have packed numerous functions onto single screens. The complicated appearance of these screens undoubtedly put off many customers. By organizing functions into layers and emphasizing those functions that customers frequently use, I have made it possible for people to access functions they desire easily and quickly. In order to validate the screens I had designed, I conducted multiple user tests with planners and developers. Not only did I make the elements on the screens simple, I also created animations so that users can understand which button brought them to the next screen. I tested these with prototypes. I took the screen designs born from this process out of the design department and undertook iterative refinements with real machines in the operations department to further enhance them and incorporate them into products.

I believe that games are treasure troves of outstanding user interface design. Outstanding games that I can become absorbed in are great references not only for game design but also for their user interfaces, including visual, sound, information design and animation aspects, that allow users to become immersed in their worlds with minimal operational burdens.
