In Pursuit of an Operating Experience in Step with the Times

The Attendance Solution System was born out of a project to renovate the entrance gate at Sharp’s offices, and it enables employees’ temperature and attendance to be taken at the entrance gate while at the same time identifying employees themselves. However, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, this operation needed to be performed without touching a screen. To solve this issue, I proposed the new operating experience of operating the device from the position where the user’s face is projected. I considered a design that uses a variety of animations to give feedback to the user, and taking into account that the device would be used outdoors, I focused on visibility and usability. Currently, a prototype is being trialed at some offices. Furthermore, we are building a versatile system with a view toward developing services other than attendance solutions.

As for me personally, I have an addictive personality in which I regularly get hooked on activities. Since joining the company, I have been hooked on any number of pastimes: playing the guitar and bass, zippo lighter tricks, cafe latte art, pizza making, building plastic Gundam models from scratch, photography and videography, becoming a Youtuber, making miniatures, and much more. I love to polish my skills and have often immersed myself in my hobbies, but since my daughter was born, I have been struggling with daily childcare and housework as a dad.
